(Manitowoc 2025 Product Release)
Manitowoc Crane Group announced the launch of the MLC250, a 250-ton lattice-boom crawler crane, expanding its fleet for global contractors involved in industrial facilities, petrochemicals, and large construction projects. The machine features improved transportability and a modernized swing system for heavy lifting applications.
The MLC250’s upper works utilize a high-capacity rotation system designed for long-duration duty cycles during repetitive lifting tasks. Manitowoc indicates that the crane’s swing drive area has been strengthened to provide more consistent rotation control during adverse wind conditions—common on open industrial sites.
The crane’s counterweight and boom-handling systems have also been redesigned to reduce assembly time, which is a major consideration for fleet owners managing multiple jobsite relocations. Early feedback from rental companies in North America suggests the crane performs particularly well in refinery and power-plant environments that require long swing paths and precise load positioning.
With demand for crawler cranes increasing across LNG, energy and infrastructure projects, the MLC250 enters the market at a favorable time for global heavy-lift contractors.
