(Genie 2025 E-Drive Series Announcement)

Genie, a global leader in aerial work platforms, has expanded its E-Drive electric scissor lift lineup with the GS-4655 E-Drive, entering the 45–50 ft working-height segment. The new model is designed to deliver higher productivity on indoor and semi-indoor construction sites while complying with increasingly strict zero-emission jobsite requirements.

The GS-4655 features a 90° steering and full-height maneuverability, supported by a compact turret-style lower structure that houses its rotation support components. Though scissor lifts do not use full slewing turrets like boom lifts, they rely on rotational steering, actuator gear reduction and structural pivot points that require robust gear mechanisms similar to compact slewing modules.

Genie reports that its new E-Drive system increases runtime by up to 30% compared with previous hydraulic-drive models, reducing maintenance and lowering total cost of ownership. The lift targets applications in logistics centers, commercial construction, stadium maintenance and large indoor facilities.

The global shift toward electric access equipment in 2025 continues to accelerate, and Genie expects the GS-4655 E-Drive to be one of its most widely adopted mid-height platforms for international rental fleets.
